Grabball

HISTORY

Grabball is a 3D game based on the theme "Joined Together" for the Game Jam GMTK2021. You play a ball (Grabball) and try to collect all the cubes without being destroyed by weird black shapes. 

I was inspired by the game Katamari Damacy where everything you collect gets attach to you. In Grabball you can defend yourself by firing the last item you collected to the enemies but it all depends on how you collect them.

GAMEPLAY

• Collect all the cubes or/and kill all the enemies (Dark Spike Shapes). 
• You can fire at the enemies with the last cube you collected.
• There is an auto-aim to the closes enemy.
• If you have no cube, you can get killed by the enemies
• The enemies destroy your cube if they touche it
• Zoom-Out (Z/X) to have a better view over time.

CONTROLS

• [WASD] to Move 
• [SPACE] to Jump
  
• [Q], [E] to Fly Up/Down
  
• [Left-Click-Mouse] to Fire
  
• [SHIFT] or [Right-Click-Mouse] to Break
• [Z], [X], [Middle-Wheel-Mouse] To Zoom View
• [F11] Full Screen

Note: The last block is the one that will be used as a projectile to fire

ABOUT ME

This is my first game and I made it as a solo dev.

I learn Unreal Engine a few months ago and I decided to join the 48 hrs Game Jam GMTK2021 to kick my ass to do something to test my skills which are very limited at this point. To add to the challenge, I use the new Unreal Engine 5A, which is not supposed to be used for production but it's just more fun.
